In August, 2019, CABES hosted the Energy Symposium in Ithaca, NY. Oral and poster presentations provided great topics for discussions which continue today.

Ithaca, NY

in October, 2019, CABES hosted the Energy Symposium, focused on perspectives from the field at large for challenges for electrochemical energy conversion in alkaline media.  A specific focus of the invited talks was the state of the art in electrolyte materials and theory and computational approaches.

Prof. Aleksandra Vojvodic from University of Pennsylvania kicked off the meeting with an inspiring keynote address that covered many aspects, from motivations and background, to recent developments in new materials, to applications and results of her own work in this field.

The poster session provided excellent opportunities for CABES researchers to converse with and learn from external speakers and members of the CABES Scientific Advisory Board who attended.

The first CABES Energy Symposium was a great success. Internal and external presenters helped report and advance the state of the art of the field. The Center expects this to become an annual event.
